Since 1984, Dan Stephens had served as President of his own company, Daniel B. Stephens & Associates, Inc. of Albuquerque, New Mexico.  A Certified Professional Hydrogeologist, his areas of interest include: hydrogeology; fate and transport; allocation; applications of numerical models; stream-aquifer interaction, artificial recharge, groundwater resource evaluations, and remediation system effectiveness analysis.  In addition to his consulting work, Stephens is an Adjunct Professor of Hydrology at the University of New Mexico and an Adjunct Associate Professor of Hydrology at New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology.  He has also served on numerous technical and advisory boards for groups such as Los Alamos National Laboratory, Idaho National Engineering and Environmental Laboratory, Ernest Orlando Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory, and the Yucca Mountain Project.  Stephens received a B.S. in Geological Science from Pennsylvania State University, an M.S. in Hydrology from Stanford University, and a Ph.D. in Hydrology from the University of Arizona.
