Construction is Complete! The Orange County Water District (OCWD) and Orange County Sanitation District (OCSD) made history on January 10, 2008 when it received approval from the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) and the Santa Ana Regional Water Quality Control Board to inject about half of the purified sewer water from the GWR System into OCWD’s seawater intrusion barrier. January 18, 2008 marked another important milestone as the project received final approval to send the other half of the water to OCWD’s groundwater spreading basins in Anaheim.

If you are interested in touring this remarkable water purification facility, beginning April 4, 2008 at 10 a.m. and the first Friday of every month at 10 a.m. thereafter, the public is invited to tour the GWR System in Fountain Valley.
